Welcome to the #bus support channel website.
#bus is a channel for those who self-injure.
Feel free to browse the site - there is a fair amount going on here, and more gets added all the time.
Please join us in #bus chat if you have, had or are having issues with self-injury.
Please remember we are not trained professionals, we are a community of people who have, are having, or have had problems with self injury. If you are suicidal, please call your local emergency services or doctor. For a list of contacts please click HERE
While using the chatroom we want people to feel safe and not intimidated by the potential graphic nature of what other members might say or want to discuss. To that end, we have our chatroom guidelines #bus Guidelines. Please read these either before you join us, or while you're here.
If you wish to discuss something in-depth and feel it might make some uncomfortable, ask in the channel first. Say you want to talk to someone and get their opinion or advice on a subject but you feel it might be a bit too graphic, or intense (in other words, you think someone might be upset by it)
If someone is able to talk with you personally or even have an open discussion in the channel about it, they'll say that they're happy to discuss it in private message or even in the channel itself.
Never feel like a subject is flat out not allowed. Ask first! :)
To chat with us in the chatroom, you can do so by clicking the icon below
Clicking this will take you to a new page, where you can enter a nickname you want other members to call you by.
please ensure that the nickname that you choose is not likely to cause distress to others.
If you have any issues in chat, please talk to those with
or
symbol by their nickname.
An example of the default Mibbit userlist you will see:
If you see this, that is the person who owns the channel. This is one of the people you speak to if you have any problems.
This is a SOP. These are the chat room staff. These are the people you speak to if you have any problems.
These are people who have generally been around the chatroom for a long time. Given to people who are known to observe the rules and are trustworthy.
This means “voice”. People are almost always given this. If the room is moderated to prevent people causing trouble, people with this symbol can still chat to others with this symbol, or any of the above symbols.
These symbols are very common in alot of chat programs / clients:
~ - channel owner
& - sop
@ - op
v - voice
If perhaps you want something a bit more permanent that Mibbit, here are a few popular irc chat clients. For help on connecting to us with these, use the above chat link, and ask in the chat room. There's more often than not someone who can help.
