I love this recipe. I’ve been using it for a few years. I only use the dollar store oxygen cleaner, though. Two 15-ounce containers are $2.50 and make the laundry soap less expensive. We had a problem with severe itching from commercial laundry detergents, even the so-called “free and clear.” I did laundry exclusively with this and we realized we were no longer itching. I even get cheap and do not add the fragrance crystals since the scent does not add to the cleanliness. I occasionally use essential oils, but usually only in each load and not in the whole batch of soap. The powdered version works great in our HE washer, but also works will in our non-HE washer in our RV! One batch of this lasts us a year, divided between home and the RV.

Vinny, you are going to love the detergent. I understand that Stacie answered your question. Feel free to email her if you have any further questions. :-)

Now I had a question, I love liquid detergent and since it doesnt contain Oxiclean like the powdered version. Is it possible to mix oxiclean and baking soda which I can add to the washer with the liquid detergent? Also is oxiclean only for whites? can it be used with colored clothing as well? Thank you so much. God bless!!!

Because it does not contain bleach, it is safe to se with colored clothing. :-)

In reply to Jillee.

I figured it out. It’s actually closer to $45 where I’m at. The problem was buying the packs of items (like the 3 pack of Fels-Naptha) or the exact measurements (like the OxiClean). I added them singly or a larger box and the price dropped $30. Still all on Walmart.

I made your detergent(now that I did my math right. Lol) and I have been loving it! I even shared some of it and your link/recipe to my coworkers. They loved it too! Thank you so much!
